Arizona weather forecast: Warm week ahead for the Valley

Monday turned out to be a warm Memorial Day in the Valley.

Today:

On May 26, Phoenix saw a high of 100°F. According to the National Weather Service's office in Phoenix, the normal high for the day is 98°F.

The record high temperature for May 26 is 112°F, which was set in 1951.

Later This Week:

NWS officials say Phoenix should see seasonably hit and dry conditions through the middle of the workweek, with highs in the upper 90s to the lower 100s.

"A pattern shift late this week will result in a slight boost in temperatures, with highs peaking around 102-106 across the lower deserts on Friday," read a portion of the forecast. "An influx of tropical moisture during the weekend may cool temperatures to near normal and lead to slight chances for showers
(10-30%) and isolated thunderstorms for portions of Southwest and South Central Arizona."
